Changing the roles of documents on the Clipboard
You can change the security roles of documents on the Clipboard in one operation. This is faster than changing the roles of the documents one at a time.
Note Changing the roles of folders with the Clipboard is not supported.
To change the roles of documents on the Clipboard:
- Add the documents to the Clipboard that you want to change as described in Adding items to the Clipboard.
- View the documents on the Clipboard as described in Viewing the Clipboard contents.
- Confirm that you want to change the roles of all of the documents on the Clipboard. If not, remove the items that you do not want to change as described in Clearing the Clipboard. The document list refreshes to show that the selected documents have been removed.

In the ribbon, in the Mass operations group, click Edit roles.
A page appears that lists the available role change options for users and for groups. The page also lists the documents on the Clipboard and their active roles.
- To change the role for a specific user:
- Type the user name in User name. To search for a user, click Find.
- Select a role from the nearby list.
- Click Add role to documents. The page refreshes to show the user added with the selected role to each of the documents.
- Repeat steps a - c for each user that you want to add.
To change the role for a group:
- Select the group name from Group.
- Select a role from the nearby list.
- Click Add role to documents. The page refreshes to show the user added with the selected role to each of the documents.
- Repeat steps a - c for each group that you want to add.
- To delete a role from a document in the list, click Remove next to the user's or group's name.
- Click View clipboard to return to the Clipboard document list.
